What Is Sacred Seasons, and Why Do I Need It?
Sacred Seasons is a series of creative and inspiring resources for innovative worship leaders, to help raise awareness of issues surrounding hunger, peace, and justice. For a sliding scale of US$120-US$150 a year, you can receive four 20-page (usually more than that) worship resource packets filled with prayers, litanies, sermons, activities, art, and much more. These resources are offered on clean, unattached pages for easy photocopying. They include a variety of age groups, worship areas, events, and angles—and sometimes a brainstorming page—so that worship leaders can choose and adapt from a potpourri of art and ideas.
Church leaders who care about justice issues need to find a balance between the apostolic and the contemplative—on the one hand, the dynamic challenge to stay true to God’s mandate to feed the poor and struggle for justice, and on the other hand, our own compelling need for nurture and healing while we work toward those dreams. The Seeds staff is committed to bringing you that balance.

Sacred Seasons Samples
We have posted here some of our favorite samples from back issues of Sacred Seasons.
We are in the process of redesigning the Sacred Seasons catalog, so please bear with us as we complete this. You will find, on this page, samples from all of the Hunger Emphasis packets from 1998-2005. Each Hunger Emphasis packet includes prayers, youth and children’s activities, litanies, dramatic readings, meditations, and lots of art. Each one also includes a 40-day hunger calendar and a place mat for a hunger meal. The emphasis is designed for the fall, but can be used any time of the year.

These include prayers, youth and children’s activities, litanies, dramatic readings, meditations, and lots of art for the four Sundays in Advent, as well as resources for Christmastide and Epiphany. |
The Lenten Packets
includes prayers, youth and children’s activities, litanies, dramatic readings, meditations, and art for the season of Lent, for Holy Week and Easter, and for just after Easter. In various packets you will find services for Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Easter Sunday. Also available on this site is a Holy Week drama for children called Easter Walk. |
The Ordinary Time Packets
which are designed, for the most part, for the summer and early fall—include prayers, youth and children’s activities, litanies, dramatic readings, meditations, and lots of art. The themes of all of these packets center around the life of the church. One packet was created specifically for Pentecost Sunday and includes ideas for creative worship settings and services for that day. |
