Francis & Clare: Learning from Creation

Earth Day has been around for more than 50 years now, and churches are beginning to understand the importance of teaching children and youth about ways to connect and nurture the earth that is our home. Here we offer a curriculum that will help you do just that.

This 12-page curriculum is designed for leaders of youth and children. Using scholarly study of the creation stories in the book of Genesis, and also the lives of Sts. Francis and Clare of Assisi, these activities will help youth and children understand their spiritual connection to nature. Jeremiah 22:13-16

“Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbors work for nothing, and does not give them their wages; who says, ‘I will build myself a spacious house with large upper rooms,’ and who cuts out windows for it, paneling it with cedar, and painting it with vermilion. Are you a king because you compete in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.
